A Canadian lawmaker is declaring victory over President Donald Trump after Trump initiated, then dropped, a series of wide-ranging tariffs against the neighboring nation.

Trump over the weekend announced tariffs on three nations, including Canada, over border security issues. He paused those tariffs on Monday, saying Canada agreed to step up enforcement at the border and reduce the flow of fentanyl into the nation.

Yeah, you were so concerned about those things the moment Trump told you about them. In fact, very few illegal aliens and hardly any fentanyl come across the border from Canada. As for products, Canada is our biggest foreign trading partner.

So we shouldn't stop them? If there are so few illegal aliens and so little Fentaenyl it is a small ask of our neighbors to stop it. And Canada should want to be fair in its trading with us if they want to be partners. Let our banks in and let our beef , poltery, and dairy in if you want to sell us Maple syrup etc.

Being a partner requires being fair and equal.
