Tea Is The New Kool-Aid
I originally posted this topic in "Conspiracy Theories" because it's hard to determine the truth about Cannabis/Hemp because so many people want it legal to smoke.
I was attacked for my question as you can see in the link: http://www.justplainpolitics.com/showthread.php?61357-Cancer-Cure-using-Cannabis
Strange that I was attacked for a question but that's JPP. Even more, the people who attacked me didn't do any homework on the topic, they just assumed it was false since it was in the "Conspiracy Theories" room...
As it turns out; "There is evidence that the controversial plant can do more than just provide symptom relief for cancer patients: cannabis can even kill cancer cells:
”The cannabinoids in cannabis prevent cancer cells from spreading, and they contribute to cancer cell death because they hit some receptors that are generally up-regulated in cancer cells,” says Professor Marja Jäättelä, who heads the Cell Death and Metabolism Research Unit at the Danish Cancer Society.
“This has been demonstrated in several studies. There is no doubt that cannabinoids are very effective at killing cancer cells.”

So "weed" (defined as an unwanted plant) was used for MANY purposes before the illegalization. It's one of the easiest plants to grow in America. I want Americans to open up their minds to the possible other uses of the plant but I know that may not be possible because Henry Ford made a car made from plastic hemp and driven by hemp fuel and it was still banned. (DuPont, the plastic alternative, had a family member in office who started the movement against "weed' and here we are. DuPont are a name known to everyone now and the stronger plastic isn't lega.)
So why don't we test it?....The NIDA (national institute on drug abuse) turn down most scientists that try to study the plant. The state, "It's not our job". Clearly, their job is similar to the party of "NO". Only a few Scientists in the world are researching this today, but the movement is growing.
Should we legalize it? This thread isn't about that. This thread is about helping people with medical conditions. This thread is about making cars that can run on plant fuel. This thread is about making cars out of plastic that doesn't dent like metal does. This thread is about the other 10,000 uses people say Cannabis has. Not about getting high.
