Independent Thinker
Morally speaking, I offer no objection to capital punishment. What you reap is what you sow. If you kill a fellow human being without cause, you have proven that you are incapable of functioning as a member of society. Furthermore, I have no problem whatsoever with the execution of rapists/child molesters.
That said, I'm not comfortable with the government (especially the Federal gov't) exercising such broad authority. Surely it would be better to simply replace capital punishment with life without parole. This would eliminate the possibility of executing an innocent person while permanently removing violent criminals from society.
But at the end of the day, I'm not losing sleep over this issue.
