CBS News has just admitted that a recent interview with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was deceptively edited. The network will now make changes to the “Face the Nation” program to prevent such incidents from happening again.

The incident stemmed from an interview aired last Sunday featuring Noem in which she was cut off while answering a question concerning why DHS was going after an illegal alien and alleged MS-13 gang member and human trafficker, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Program host Ed O’Keefe asked Noem why they weren’t making Garcia stand trial and face charges here in the United States and were attempting to deport him out of the country. After the segment aired, Noem got on her social media accounts and trashed the network.

“I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety,” Noem stated, posting video clips to support her case.

In the clip that CBS aired on television, Noem said, “Prosecution decisions are always made by the Department of Justice and Pam Bondi’s department, so we will let them do that, although this individual does have criminal charges pending. He has charges pending against him civilly as well. And the one thing that we will continue to do is to make sure that he doesn’t walk free in the United States of America.”

The rest of her answer was edited out, and the interview jumped ahead to O’Keefe’s next question, concerning whether the government should continue to pursue efforts to deport Abrego Garcia to Uganda. Noem then posted her unedited response, which wasn’t shown on the air.

SUE THEM INTO THE GROUND.
