Vietnam has marked the 35th anniversary of the end of the war of US aggression with a dramatic re-enactment of the day North Vietnamese tanks ousted the US-backed South Vietnam government.

How long until Iraq and Afghanistan hold similar celebrations?

Yep, we tried for a couple of decades and then left.

However, China tried to subdue Vietnam for 1,000 years and failed completely. It may not get the same celebrations, but it does get a few laughs here in the US.
