Mike Webb is a congressional hopeful out of Virginia’s 8th district. He’s also the kind of guy that would (seemingly) appreciate a bit of alone time and a box of tissues.

The unlucky candidate accidentally uploaded a screenshot to his Facebook page and forgot to close two tabs to Pornhub. The tabs, titled ‘Layla Rivera Tight Body’ and ‘Ivone Sexy Amateur,’ seem to show the congressional hopeful already acting, well, pretty congressional.

Webb, the self-described “faith-based” candidate is presumably against pornography of all sorts, which is probably why he offered up a bullshit explanation. Essentially, Webb blamed the entire thing on “research” and then backed away slowly.

The congressional candidate who showed the world his porn searches doesn’t see what the big deal is.

Mike Webb, who is running for Congress to represent Virginia’s eighth district, had a national gaffe on Monday after he posted a photo on his Facebook page with two porn tabs tucked in the top left corner.

But he’s not embarrassed about the now-deleted posts.

“I don’t think we did anything wrong,” he said. “Even if I was on a porn site, being a Christian doesn’t mean that you’re perfect.”

He’s "proud" that his mistake reached about 500,000 people before it was deleted, and helped him gain up to 500 more likes on his Facebook page.

Webb still stands by his original defense — that the skin flick searches were strictly for "research".

Representatives from Facebook did not confirm Webb's claim.

Whether he's telling the truth or not (and I really don't care but I'd much rather have this guy than Beyer) I can tell you that as a preacher if my web history was made public I'd be scrutinized as well. I do research and research sometimes takes me to some dark, sordid places on the web.
