They could honor the great contributions to world culture the Aztecs made, like tossing little girls into volcanoes and slaughtering tens of thousands of people whenever they installed a new king, and hacked up the bodies and distributed them to the survivors to be cooked and eaten. Even in normal times they slaughtered and ate thousands, which is why Cortez had zero problem finding 200,000 native allies in the neighboring tribes to go to war against the scum.
