Civics Lesson:

When 1 Senator refuses to even hold hearings for a Supreme Court nominee with 6 months left of a presidency;
The same Senator pushes a nominee of a president with less than a month before an election.
It is proven that even midterm elections have consequences.

Scariest part, the president that had his nominee refused had the support of the Major of Americans, the president that had his nominee pushed through did not.

Forget about abortion and politics. As a Civics Lesson, this should trouble everyone.

Please don't comment on abortion or politics.

I will simplify for you.

Mitch refused to have a hearing for a nominee to the supreme court for political reasons 6 months before a presidential election.
Then Mitch 1 month before a presidential election he pushed a nominee through for political reasons.

The overturning of roe proves that midterm elections have consequences.

As a bonus, President Obama was elected twice with the majority of Americans voting for him.

trump was elected once and never received the support of the majority of Americans.

This should be concerning to everyone. This time it is roe, next time???

Fyi, I apologize for the poor description in the OP. I was attempting to tell the story without names to avoid being partisan. Hopefully this clarified my thoughts.

An actual civics lesson: Both decisions followed past precedent. When the party in power in the Senate is the same as the President, late-term nominees are usually approved. When the party in power in the Senate is the opposite as the President, late-term nominees tend to be rejected. Both have direct precedent going back over 100 years. Learn something.

So is Roe v. Wade. What's your point? The JOB of the US Senate is to consider the presidents judicial nominees. McConnell refused to do his job. It's that simple.

The fuck does that have to do with my correction of the poster's assertions? You braindead as fuck or what?

they considered it an opportunity......its that simple.....
Just remember the next "opportunity" might be something that you disagree with...
The opportunity to put political party over the voice of the people is dangerous. The corruption of the GOP to ensure power is dangerous.

I am proud to be a progressive but I am disgusted and worried when either side seems more interested in partisanship than the American people.
