Ali Velshi is 'white enough' from MSNBC was on all day yesterday. Another CNN crew member, not a reporter, I guess he was white enough not to bothered.

Minnesota state police on Friday arrested CNN reporter Omar Jimenez and his camera crew during a live report on the network's morning program "New Day."

"You're under arrest," one officer said in the middle of the report on the protests that have erupted in Minneapolis.

"OK, do you mind telling me why I'm under arrest? Why am I under arrest, sir?” Jimenez can be heard saying.

"You're arresting him live on CNN. We told you before we're with CNN," one member of the CNN crew could be heard saying off-camera while the footage of the arrest rolled.

"Police said they were arrested because they were told to move and didn't," according to CNN.com.

"That is an American television reporter Omar Jimenez being led away by police officers. He clearly identified himself as a reporter,” explained "New Day" anchor John Berman while showing the video. “He was respectfully explaining to the state police that our CNN team was there and was moving away as they would request," explained "New Day" anchor John Berman. "And for some reason, he was just taken into police custody live on television."

The anchors went on to note that Jimenez identifies as black and Hispanic. They pointed to the fact that they had another crew in the area that is still working and is white...

how do you identify as both black and hispanic lol. Are you just trying to hit all the minority boxes? Why not be a black, hispanic, native american, asian?

Seriously though MN is such a clusterfuck. They need to get rid of the racist state and local officials in charge and vote them out. Bonus points if they burn a couple more buildings later :)

I doubt they were all that left-wing considering they arrested a journalist for reporting on news that the Republicans want us to ignore.
 
One thing about this though. When the open up protesters were doing thier thing the number one thing you hear the media mention is why are they not social distancing? In this riot they havent really asked why they arent social distancing.

Did he move? If the officers didn't give him enough time to comply, I'll bet he was eventually released....Is that wrong?
I'd love a link to the order from the "higher ups", though...TIA
Edit: Just heard an update....they released them and "apologized"...someone cried and they're now back hard at work...
I'm sure if they're asked again to move, they just will;)

Are you kidding me? You do not understand the message they sent? The reporters did absolutely nothing wrong. Standing a few steps one way or the other was not going to change anything. They decided to arrest the reporters. It is just that easy and you should be honest.
The reporters asked them"where do you want us to move? The cops did not care. They were arresting them to send a message.It was not about standing in the right spot. It was about who has the power

They sure have a chickenshit police force. They literally murder a minority in cold blood, protests break out because of that, then they let the town fall to looters and arsonists because they were too chickenshit to stand up to it.

WHO WAS HE 'BEATING'? What was he burning? I thought he was reporting. He had on his credentials. He had a cameraman within range to videotape it. He can call himself a one eyed, one horned flying PURPLE people eater. WTF has that got to do with being getting arrested for DOING YOUR JOB?

The town obviously does not want the police there. Let the townspeople do what they will.
