They love the plausible deniability of a secret hand signal with a wink and a nod they will say it's an innocent okay.
That is the whole purpose of having secret hand signals.
This racist asshole couldn't hide what he believed and posted on social media though, proving what was obvious in the video.
He wanted to signal that he was a white supremacist swine.
The coast guard did exactly what they needed to do.
By only firing him, he got off lightly, IMHO.
 
Had the coast guard looked into this asshole's social media and found that he was a normal person who had friends of other races then they would have left him alone and passed it all of as the "okay" hand gesture.
But what they found was a white supremacist with ties to racist groups.

To be totally fair to Angry Bird/Grumps, I looked up this latest RWNJ poutrage. Turns out that the guy is an enlisted CG member. He was not "fired." He was reassigned. His gesture, while seated at some sort of console, was not a peace sign. It was clearly the white supremacist hand sign which consists of the thumb and index finger forming the okay sign... but the other fingers are raised, not drawn down into the hand as we usually make the OK sign.
