Joe Biden - "Time to put Trump in the bullseye."
Anyway to avoid obeying the law! They say they'll use tricks like accepting anyone in the top 10% of their HS graduating class ignoring the fact that at mostly black schools, even the top graduates can barely read!

https://www.boston.com/news/nationa...es-looking-for-new-ways-to-promote-diversity/

june 30 2023 Leaders of scores of universities said Thursday that they were disappointed by what they see as a blow to diversity. Yet many also voiced optimism that they would find new ways to admit more Black and Hispanic students, despite evidence that eliminating the practice often leads to steep enrollment decreases among them.

As an alternative to affirmative action, colleges from California to Florida have tried a range of strategies to achieve the diversity they say is essential to their campuses. Many have given greater preference to low-income families. Others started admitting top students from every community in their state.

But years of experimentation — often prompted by state-level bans on considering race in admissions — left no clear solution. In states requiring race-neutral policies, many colleges saw enrollment drops among Black and Hispanic students, especially at selective colleges that historically have been mostly white.

Other colleges were planning to boost recruiting in racially diverse areas, or admit more transfer students from community colleges.

Nine states already have banned affirmative action, starting with California in 1996 and, most recently, Idaho in 2020.

After Michigan voters rejected it in 2006, the University of Michigan shifted attention to low-income students.

It sent graduates to work as counselors in low-income high schools. It started offering college prep in Detroit and Grand Rapids. It offered full scholarships for low-income Michigan residents. More recently, it started accepting fewer early admission applications, which are more likely to come from white students.

Of course they are, have been for years, the old boy network or legacies, you didn’t think the likes of Cheney or Bush got into Ivy League schools cause they earned it academically did you

Which I guess based on your thinking then the military schools are also cause they still have to keep their affirmative action policies, and the right used always say they support the military

Any action taken based on RACE is "RACISM" by definition, no matter who is doing it. Forced affirmative action does not define the military.

What twisted illogic you always try to float by.

Good for them, we need diversity on our campuses?!! We still have race and inequality problems in this country, as far as all men are created equal, we are not there yet?!!

Are you really that stupid, that you hadn't realized there is almost no way to enforce this ruling by the SC.

Diversity is a terrible idea. Mixing races always leads to trouble. All men are not created equal. Blacks are extremely inferior mentally and the evidence is overwhelming.

1. Black-americans come in last in all standardized tests. Asian-americans do fine on all the tests so it's not due to cultural bias in the tests.

2. Africa is by far the poorest and most backward continent on the planet. All of black africa is now controlled by blacks and has been for decades so it's not due to racism.

3. No black has ever won a Science Nobel Prize unless you count one in 1979 for the semi-science of economics. They have won many nobels in non-brain fields like Peace and also in Literature so it is not due to racism.

4. Out of 1725 chess grandmasters in the world, only THREE are black.

5. 50 years of affirmative action special treatment and blacks have fallen even further behind. What does that tell you?

It's like a lot of people in America are stuck in 1960 (when college campuses were largely all white). I'm actually curious how many people have been to different college campuses recently if they think these schools lack diversity. Not only do most have people from all walks of life in America but many schools have good size international populations as well.

Of course what diversity actually means is black people.

There is no "law" to obey. Colleges have been using factors other than SAT and GPA forever. When TX started using the top 10% schools like UT had to add remedial classes. UT and A&M got the legislature to allow them to choose from the top 7%.

Im still waiting for some NFL team to live up to the Rooney rule by interviewing William CHANG, Armando Hernandez, and Bill Kicking Horse for head coaching jobs before hiring the candidate of their choice. Even though they would have followed the R Rule to the letter of the law millions of heads would EXPLODE. Well worth it IMO.

As society becomes more diverse so do college students. In my area the valedictorian and salutatorian of local high schools are seldom white. It was Vietnamese and now Middle Eastern and Indian.

It is not twisted logic at all.

If you have one group that has a massive legacy advantage that STILL favors them getting even more benefits in the future then just leaving it be, because any targeted help to the disadvantaged group is a form of discrimination, that DOES NOT mean that discrimination should not happen.

If a bunch of white supremist roll in to Selma and burn only the homes and businesses of black owned businesses, you do not target help for them by giving it to every race and person equally, and instead you target that help to those harmed, even if some people will cry 'discrimination' as they want some of it too.

This ruling is about, what this issue always comes down to. Those who have the privilege and power, trying to entrench that for as long as they can and for as many generations as they can by finding logic to say any help given specifically to the victimized is a form of discrimination and should not happen.

And those with power and privilege win this round. They will ensure they slow down, even the modest gains PoC and Women were making with these programs.

Are you really that stupid, that you hadn't realized there is almost no way to enforce this ruling by the SC.

The many court cases in this area used college records showing admission rates by race and entrance scores. It was not difficult to determine that race was used to admit students with lower scores and denying white and Asian students with higher scores.
