Congress Shall Make NO LAW....

What all you neocon libertarians are thinking is that somehow the corporate agenda is synonymous with something good for all americans; consider dixie and his people are corporations abstraction confusion.

What's good for corporations is not necessarily good for citizens. In fact, the way business is proceeding now, profits are mostly increased by laying off non citizens in preference for more desperate wage slaves. People who actually create innovations, engineers and non managers, are treated like a commodity and provided no future in their own corporations. They want people right out of school and ride them slaves until they burn out, providing no real path of career advancement.

Whats "good" for all Americans is irrelevant ...and whats 'good' in your eyes may and probably is different from what your neighbor thinks is 'good'....

The SC ruled on First Amendment rights...its not particularly good for us to have to listen to the rants of the KKK or the US Communist Party, buy they also have rights.....

Our rights, under the US Constitution, do not necessarily have to extend to non citizens do they?...I think not, personally...."the people" referred to in the Constitution should mean US citizens....our rules cannot be forced on the citizens of other nations....

being laid off is never good. You sound like a lib idiot playing with words like this.

In this climate where the constitution is torn asunder for the benefit of the fascists, This is one of the few cases where those opposed to fascism should make an exception when it comes to foreign corporate speech.
slippery slope. if we make an exception here, we must begin to make exceptions in others, thus we slowly erode our liberties.

Your argument is just a setup to blame the victims. The people. People constantly fed propaganda will have a majority start to believe it.
then we are a people too weak to maintain our freedom and don't deserve it anyway.

The slippery slope is generally considered a logical fallacy.

And yes indeed, you are setting up the argument to blame the victims.

here's the thing. congress shall make no law......

this restricts congress from making a law restricting the freedom of speech. it doesn't say 'except foreigners or foreign corporations.

This means that, yes, Chavez could throw billion dollar ads out there advocating a socialist or communist candidate....if he so chose. Why?

Because 'we the people' wrote the constitution, we the people formed the federal government, and we the people put restrictions on the federal government. Therefore, it is incumbent upon 'we the people' to be knowledgable about any and all candidates who are running for office to be our representatives. If we are going to be lazy enough to sit back and elect our representatives based on ads we see on television (which may be based on total and complete lies), then 'we the people' deserve exactly the totalitarian government we elect.
''

How would it be unconstitutional for Congress to regulate against those corporations that have foreign controlling interests in American corps. from taking out advocay ads? Don't laws already exist preventing foreign contributions directly to candidates?

campaign contributions are not free speech. they are contributions to endorse a political candidate. That is not what this decision allows, unfettered contributions to political candidates. This decision stops congress from restricting an entity over their political speech, whether its an individual spending 20,000 on a full page newspaper ad or a corp spending 200,000 on a tv ad.

And it's a deeply wrong and america destroying decision.
