Consent of the governed

I had a progressive Methodist tell me on Thanksgiving that consent of the governed is still important, but that the people should only be allowed to decide relatively unimportant matters, or when they were willing to do "the right thing".

Shocking I know!

As a heterodox Progressive spending the day with a clan of Progressives (one had a t-shirt "We are living on stolen indigenous lands") was very interesting.
