We actually had something like this happen before with Woodrow Wilson. The Vice President was prudent and didn't shake things up then, but I'm afraid for a country with such serious issues, that may not be possible.
Still, as a young country institutionally, they would be wise to show restraint and look to their constitution as a guide. It feels like a long time now until the next election in 2011, but it will feel even longer to live under a military dictatorship with no end in sight.
If they have a means to change their constitution and lawfully impeach him, then so be it.
And if they can resist temptations to do the easy thing, we might just have something to learn from them about the value of constitutional government.
