Corrupt Democrat Party Loads up the PORK for their most vulnerable member in 2008

Without a doubt because of Democrat stronghold of New Orleans population down, Louisiana senator Mary Landrieu is the most vulnerable to losing. So what does the Dem party do? Grant her billions in pork of course.

"Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), in fact, put out a press release late last night declaring Thursday as "our $12 billion day." Indeed, Louisiana received $3 billion in home reconstruction aid that was dropped into the Defense spending bill late in negotiations. That bill cleared the Senate on Thursday. Louisiana will receive $7 billion of the $23 billion water resources development act money thanks to the resounding override of President Bush's veto of that bill. And the Pelican State will receive $2 billion in defense funds for various military projects and installations in that state under the Pentagon spending bill.

Bringing home the bacon for Louisiana certainly doesn't hurt Landrieu, who is the Republicans' top target in 2008 Senate elections."

Cry more. The biggest champion of the was a (R) and also is voted most conservative by the ACU.

So it is your fault Dano lol!

Yeah who do they think they are demanding military installations and other pork?

Good try...

You just can't stop lying can you?

That fat fuck Barbour managed to get Mississippi plenty of pork, and used that as pretty much his only argument for re-election. Don't see you complaining about that.

Barbour is a senator is he? Senators bring and vote home pork for their states, Governors can only try and persuade.

And you are fucking kidding me if you think he needed pork to get reelected, you don't really live there.

Yes both parties have not the greatest record on pork, but the Dems are not only bad with it, they are now delivering based on who needs reelection help.

Any comments on the most conservative (R) according to the ACU being the chief proponent of the bill?

He was an idiot. Everyone can see how stupid he is. The only thing that keeps him in office is the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and connections his years of bribing senators has brought.

SURELY surely surely, you don't need me or anyone else to post republican pork meant to sway elections.

Here's two words that may help you out .. Tom Delay .. and that's just the tip of the long ass historical lceberg.

You should have stopped at your first point .. both parties do it and they call it "politics."

Dano,

Any comments on the most conservative (R) according to the ACU being the chief proponent of the bill?

Will you not hold them to the same standard? You are always copping out with the "well it was all the liberal republicans" whenever they do something bad. What is your excuse now?

bump LOL bump

LMAO good bump. I wouldn't have even clicked if I didn't see your name next to teh post.

Where do you see a Republican senator mentioned?
Who are you talking about? That is why I ignored it.

Do you mean that the defense bill was authored by a Conservative? Even if that is true, he is not responsible for the pork that got dropped in that by Landrieu anymore than anyone was ever responsible for others who added riders or bullshit to bills.

I heard him speaking on npr. I actually don't remember his name. but he proclaimed.

" I am the most conservative senator according to the ACU and I fully support this bill and Prez Bush is retarded for vetoing it. This is a good piece of legislation" Not his exact words of course. I'm sure there is a transcript on the net but I forgot his name and I am not familiar with the ACU to see who is #1 conservative on there.

Well you know me being such a fan of NPR and other government media I don't see how I could have missed it! ;)

It may well be some Conservative guy supported the defense bill or even authored it and likes the bulk of what's in there, doesn't mean he should take responsibility for the riders and Landrieu's pork.

I imagine that if that was the case he would say so or would at least try to have the bill amended.

"The bill passed Congress by overwhelming margins, and a leading conservative senator called Bush's veto "an exercise in futility" Wednesday.

"I urge, as much as I hate to do this, my colleagues on the Republican side to join me in overriding the president's veto on this very important bill," said Sen. James Inhofe, R-Oklahoma.

Inhofe, the ranking Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said the authorization bill is "the only discipline that we have for spending," since it sets the amount to be spent on each project."

Here is is. He and the vast majority of the rest of them voted for it then voted to overturn the veto.
