SAN JOSE, California (AP) -- Web sites that publish inflammatory information written by other parties cannot be sued for libel, the California Supreme Court ruled Monday.

The ruling in favor of free online expression was a victory for a San Diego woman who was sued by two doctors for posting an allegedly libelous e-mail on two Web sites.

Kewl.

Yup! That's actually a really hard law to enforce anyway. The big guys would essentially have to shut down most of their chat rooms.

umm, Damo I think this frees you from the mistakes of others. At least that is the good part.
Once again, it wasn't a freedom that I didn't have before. It's just wasted breath making it into a law. This isn't the same as the "Freedom from Fear" garbage that the government has absolutely no way to gaurantee and simply is a way to walk all over other freedoms.
