Yet the Republican president’s critics — and some allies — are questioning his silence on admissions policies that give applicants a boost because of their wealth or family ties. While he has pressed colleges to eliminate any possible consideration of a student’s race, he has made no mention of legacy admissions, an edge given to the children of alumni, or similar preferences for the relatives of donors.

“It’s hard to think of a more flagrant way in which the system is rigged than legacy preferences,” Kahlenberg said. “Rarely is a system of hereditary privilege so openly practiced without any sense of shame.”

Many selective colleges consider family ties

Sometimes called “affirmative action for the rich,” the practice of legacy admissions remains widespread among elite colleges even as it faces mounting bipartisan opposition.

It is what the story says. My god, are you pretending to be a fucking moron?
It is not what the story says. So, you made the choice to gaslight more.

You took an unbalanced story that says that Trump has remained silent on the subject where the author gives you "suggestions" in a specific direction, and you go along with the suggestions of the author rather than reading and understanding what it said.

Yeah, folks do get sick of people who are accurate with facts, especially so when the facts point out how suggestible they are to the opinions of others rather than actually paying attention to what was said.

Geebus, man. When you are in a hole stop digging!
You cannot be this fucking stupid. Are you trolling your own forum? You'd get more visitors if you were not such a fucking asshole.

Oh. No... What will the legacy morons do if they can't get into Harvard because they were too stupid to study?

Especially after being groomed in Sidwell Friends Academy for 12 years and having personal coaches to meet the entrance requirements.

The answer is simple - stop all federal grants and aid to colleges and universities, including guaranteed student loans. Make the colleges compete for the educational dollars of students.

Once the federal government has absolutely nothing to do with colleges - they can do anything they please - admit who they like for whatever reason.

So only the very wealthiest can afford to send kids to college.

...and YOU want to make admissions based on race.
