cruise ship oceanos and greek cruise ships

seems even after the oceanos disaster greek cruise ships are not very safe according to my wife who researches things

it also seems the traditional women and children first and the captain goes down with the ship are obsolete notion in places

seems that when it was pbvious that the ship was about to sink that officers and crew got their belongings including luggage and themselves onto the life boats sans passengers

oh well

I think the captain and crew (at least the sailing crew) should have been tried and shot after that incident. He left those people there to die. I don't believe that a captain should have to go down with the ship, but he sure as heck has to do his best to get everyone off the ship safely.
