Do you have to pay for 3G to enjoy the "free maps and gps feature?"

I was wondering if instead you could connect via wifi at home or something and then all the maps would be cached on your phone. Cause that would be ill.
 
You do have to sign up for 3G, but I use wifi at home because it is faster.

There are even apps to help you find and utilize wifi while you are out and about. However if you are using the navigation feature you would need 3G as there isn't wifi enough to go around...
 
man i just don't know if 3g is worth it, it would be cool to have but overall I know I wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost.

So the GPS works over the 3g. I suppose that makes sense
 
I have Verizon as well. We have 3 lines, unlimited text and 1400 anytime, it is running us 185 per month. Is this running you more?

OMG does anyone know how LONG I've wanted to say that?!?
 
Not being a GM guy I forgot about Onstar. And it's part of the Verizon network. That's handy to know. The new Camaro looks like a very good value.
