'Daniel Boone' star Fess Parker dies!

A lot of boomers grew up with Fee Parker as Davy Crockett
and Daniel Boone, and I had a coon skin cap too!

What a bummer. I had a Kentucky long rifle as a toy as a kid and the real thing when I grew up.

I have to admit I was a bit dissapointed when I grew older and read about the real Boom and discovered he wasn't much like the character played by Parker at all.

RIP Fess.

He had a nice hotel in Santa Barbara. Made some good wine as well. but he'll always be Daniel Boone to me.

Fess also played Davy Crockett. Crockett = substantively cooler than Boone. I have never seen a single episode of Daniel Boone, but Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier is always a great watch. There is also a corny sequel (about river rafting) which is worth at least one viewing...
