I would like to debate you one the meaning of "the general welfare" within the United States Constitution.
I believe that this term has been stretched beyond all meaning and intent by our founding fathers to justify big government spending. I will take the side of originalism. You will take the side of big government. Please cite references to support your position preferably founding fathers stating that the role of government was to provide for all manner of the "general welfare"
