Dem Superstar McKinney for president!

Former Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D), who lost her congressional seat last year after her publicized scuffle with a Capitol Hill police officer, registered to vote in California -- and is being pushed by some to run for president as a Green Party candidate, the AP reports. Despite McKinney posting a letter on her Web site last month, saying she is not interested in the Green Party nomination, a group called "Run! Cynthia! Run!" is trying to draft her as a candidate in California. McKinney and six other Green Party candidates, including Ralph Nader were nominated by the Green Party Convention in September, and McKinney has yet to remove her name from the ballot.

"'She's got us all guessing, but she hasn't removed her name, and that's a good sign,' said John Morton, a California Green Party delegate, 'I talked to her last week and she said she's very interested but not ready to make an announcement.'"

Take it from someone who used to work for her .. she will be a candidate for the Green Party nomination.

Like a lot of former democrats, she's disgusted with democratic complicity to evil.

Best of luck to her and the Greens. She will soon appreciate the gross unfairness toward 3rd parties that our system encourages.

She was already one of the few people in congress pushing for legislation that would allow states to use proportional representation as well single-member district. It takes being in the minority to understand these kinds of things.

Yeah I know.

You're right, but she is already aware of that, and even as a democrat she fought for equal ballot access .. which was another reason why democrats hated her.

I shouldn't have phrased it that way. I was aware that she had sponsored several house bills that were aimed at reform.

I'm happy for the Greens, they have a potential to shed some light on the issue.

Your phrasing was fine .. I was acknowledging that you are indeed correct.

She was the loudest voice in America on the fraud of the Iraq war .. and she was attacked for her willingness to speak truth to power .. unlike the majority of the spineless Democratic Party.

She has definetely been one of the most outspoken Dems when in power and that's why I called her a superstar and look where she might end up, as head of the nation's 3rd most powerful party - was I really wrong Lorax?
HAHAHAHA

Well personally I think she was attacked more for her begging for Saudi cash when Rudy rejected it. That stunt fed right in to the popular concept that Liberal Democrats are into appeasement and caused national embarassment for the party.
Libertarians also opposed the war but none of them tried to kiss up to Saudi ass for cash in blaming America.

Oh and her voting record is basically one of a Socialist, wayyy out in left field.

She still recognizes the catastrophic nature of the two party system and is working to change it.

I have ideological differences with the Congresswoman, to be sure, but it's refreshing to see anyone working toward a more fair and free electoral process.

Wrong sir.

Your suggestion that she was attacked for 'begging" for Saudi cash .. when in fact, the Bush Administration and his entire family is awash in Saudi cash doesn't make a lot of sense. McKinney did not rush Bin Laden's family out of the country withour interoggation on 9/11 .. Bush did.

McKinney does not have financial connections, nor has she ever had long financial connections to the Saudis or the Bil Laden family .. Bush does.

And if I'm not mistaken, the Saudis are supposed to be our allies.

She was attacked for her courageous stand and speaking truth to the Bush Administration .. AND EVERYTHING SHE SAID HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE ABSOLUTELY TRUE

Libertarians may also oppose the war, but not a single one fo them had a louder voice against it, nor has any of them worked with antiwar groups more fervently than McKinney.

NOR. has any libertarian been more vocal on the fraud of electronic voting than McKinney who was, like the fraud of Iraq, the first in thge nation to speak the truth about it.

In fact, when the fraud was conclusively proven in Leon County, Florida .. liobertarians weren't there .. Cynthia Mckinney was.

As for her "socialist" policies .. well, you're a right-winger so I'm sure that many policies of the Green Party would be "socialist" to you, but she is and has always been right in step with the platform of the Greens.
