Democrats call for criminal charges against Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee (D-TX) told Raw Story that after watching the first half of the fifth public hearing from the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress that she's convinced there should be criminal charges against the former president.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder tweeted that the key piece of evidence for him was when Donald Trump ordered DOJ lawyers, "Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen."

Holder explained, "Coupled with other testimony demonstrates both Trump’s substantive involvement and corrupt intent, requisite state of mind." He went on to say that all of the lawyers involved in it should be disbarred.

It will just make Trump a martyr, which he will milk going into 2024, portraying any action taken by the DOJ as a banana republic sham

I'm fine with them making him a martyr. If he is convicted the court can order him to STFU or face contempt. We need to make an example of this horrible excuse for an American president.

You are then allowing any future President to do the exact same thing without repercussion.

Clearly Trump committed crimes and asked others to commit felonies.
 
There's no need to indict Trump when the president has the means to just make him disappear.
The current president just doesn't have the balls.
I bet that if Obama were back in office, and Obama is far less militant than I am, there would be search parties out futilely looking for Trump.

I Totally disagree- The wisest thing to do is Bust Donald Trumps Balls to the full extent of the law. Let's not forget that people died as a direct result of Donald Trump's actions, negligence, and words.

Nixon is no Martyr- Andrew Johnson is no Martyr. DONALD TRUMP IS NO MARTYR AND NEVER WILL BE.

There has to be a consequence when caught committing a crime- or crimes of this nature will become the Standard Fare!

You don't want to risk doing the time- DON'T DO THE CRIME!

For the criminally insane people like Donald Trump AND Other bad actors centered around him, until that cell door locks shut behind all of them- they would just continue to commit crimes against the people.

And Donald Trump's ass kissers need to see Donald Trump in jail or they will just be saying Trump is Invincible and a Martyr.

They need to learn a valuable lesson, that no matter who you are- YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW!

And they also need to witness- The Big Trees make the loudest bang when they fall!

Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up! AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!
