Democrats could gain 15 more seats in House two years after 'blue wave'

House Democrats appear to be on the precipice of expanding their majority in the lower chamber.

In a new report by the nonpartisan election forecaster Cook Political Report, seven House races have shifted in the Democratic Party's favor, including in the contest for the North Carolina seat vacated by White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, which moved from "Likely Republican" to "Lean Republican."

There are 232 Democrats and 198 Republicans in the House, as well as one libertarian — former Republican Justin Amash — and four vacancies, including one left by the late Rep. John Lewis. Republicans lost control of the House thanks to the so-called "blue wave" during the 2018 midterm elections in which Democrats flipped 41 seats.

There are other warning signs for Republicans in the upper chamber, where they currently hold 53 seats. An analysis released by Cook in July, when there was just over 100 days before the election in November, said, "Democrats are a slight favorite to win the Senate majority."

Did you consider Republicans gaining far more seats in 2010 as a red wave? A better question is do you have the guts to admit it, hymie?

The House isn't in any danger of "flipping" by any stretch of the imagination. Now, the WH and the Senate are a far different story.

The last two times the Democrats swept into office with large majorities switching in Congress and the election of a Democrat president, (Clinton then Obama) they got two years. Then they were turned out of Congress wholesale in the midterm election en masse. These were two of the biggest flips in Congress in US history, and bigger than the margins by which the Democrats took control.

Both times it happened because the Democrats immediately shifted hard to the Left and tanked the economy, raised taxes, started issuing massive new costly and oppressive regulations, and generally fucked everything up for everybody. I have ZERO doubt that if they win the Presidency and Congress this time, they'll do any better. I say at the very best, they have two years and then they're finished for more than a decade. History says the odds are heavily on my side.

Or, they could lose a shitload of seats in the House. They have pissed more than a few people off this year.

It is highly doubtful that Democrats will lose seats in the House. Democrats have not pissed off people who were not already pissed off with them. Republicans have been pissing off new people.

If you are saying, "I have always hated the Democrats so much I would never vote for them, and lately they have been pissing me off even more", then the answer is who cares. If you were never going to vote for the Democrats, they lose nothing by impeaching trump and pissing you off.

And if I recall, until 1994, the Dumbshitocrats had a stranglehold on the House for FORTY FUCKING YEARS!!!

That's pretty much correct then Bill Clinton and the Hildabeast took the White House and in two years managed to completely fuck that away... I'd actually blame the Hiidabeast more thing Bill the molester.

It's the Democrap way. They want power ad infinitum ad nauseum. And the want zero opposition to their vomit-laden ideology.

I hope Democrats flip the Senate too because Russian and tRump sold out republicans have proven they do not deserve any type of majority in Congress or have any type of influence on the affairs of society and humanity as a terrible and destructive failure who, in particular, engaged in a deplorable act of sedition against Congressional justice and acquitting tRump when all of the impeachment evidence justified a conviction and removal. tRump's sold out republicans have proven they are no good for anything of a civilized nature at being un American and a threat to the civilized part of global humanity.

Why is it highly doubtful? Big swings happen in the House on the regular but you think it won't happen? It just happened two years ago fuckwit. It has happened before, it will happen again.

Huge swings with absolutely no warning are very rare, if not unheard of.

You just saw one two years ago....the mid-term thing is ubiquitous in American political chat...and you say very rare.
