Democrats should copy Newt's "contract w/ America"

Whether you agreed w/ Newt's "contract w/ America" or not, it was a brilliant idea for a party out of power. Craft a true alternate vision for the direction of the country, in detail, and present that to the American people as a cohesive plan.

The Democrats are adrift right now. I don't even really know who their leader is, or if they have one. They have to take the embarrassment of last night & turn it into a galvanizing moment - and they can rally around Slotkin's fantastic response.

That's where their vision should start. Right now, Americans think they're the party that wants transgender athletes to hurt women in sports, and who want criminals to cross the border. They've allowed Trump to define them.

There is a HUGE opportunity right now for a different vision than what is taking place, and independent/moderate voters are there for the taking if Democrats are smart.
