Fifty-four percent see his ‘recent comments about people who don’t pay income taxes’ negatively; 32 percent respond favorably, with the rest unsure.


In a sign of particular trouble for Romney, negative views of his campaign have grown by 18 points since midsummer among independents, who often are swing voters.
