Which is pretty much what the whole crop of Beltway pundiquats have been predicting for the past couple of weeks. Not total. They did keep the status requirements for the Iraqi government.

Which is what compromise always is... It makes everybody unhappy.Which is pretty much what the whole crop of Beltway pundiquats have been predicting for the past couple of weeks.
The Dims will spin this as a victory, as will the Repugs.
I haven't heard that. Although I do think it is a walk into foreign relations again and against article II.Which Bush can waive anyway, right? Or is that something else?

I believe that they are keeping an unpopular war alive so that they can use it later as they run in 2008.I just saw it reported on TV again. Yes, he can waive them. He will waive them. There is no compromise. They got down on their knees for a guy with a 27% approval rating.
Howard Finemen reported that though Pelosi thinks she has an agreement from the Shit House to give her the minimum wage hike, the Shit House told Fineman that because the dems caved and because of the position they are now in, the ShitHouse is going to walk away from that agreement, they are going to renege.
Oh how they must be chortling tonight. That is what you get for making an agreement with the most souless thing to ever occupy the Shit House though. I don't feel sorry for them. They've got it coming.
I believe that they are keeping an unpopular war alive so that they can use it later as they run in 2008.
Bush's current approval is about 35%, Congress' current approval rating is about 26%.... unless you count the 'fair' crowd. (I notice those polls don't have the same, "somewhat approve" or "somewhat disapprove" they just have "Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor" so I equate "fair" to somewhat disapprove.)It's unfortunate for you that you give the democratic party so much credit for brainstorming, if none for convictions.
I believe that they have absolutely zero courage, and weren't going to go to the American people and even try to make the case that they would fund the war if Bush agreed to enforcable timetables, but since he kept vetoing that, their hands were tied, they have to defund, but they will fully fund safe troop withdrawal.
So they caved, and they made a deal, because Pelosi has been taking a lot of flack for getting none of her first hundred hours BS actually enacted. So the white house says, take out the timetables and we'll give you the minimum wage hike. So she says, yes sir, and now they are going to tell her to shove her minimum wage hike. I mean, they are just so pathetic. If you can't beat a guy with a 27% approval rating you don't deserve to be working at the DMV.
Now who is being disingenious ?I believe that they are keeping an unpopular war alive so that they can use it later as they run in 2008.

Not true, Ive been involved in compromises that have made me very happy.
Yeah but you are a lawyer. Could you client say the same thing ? You get paid either way...
It would if they defund it. If they truly believe that only harm will come of this, and it is immoral, there is no other real option. Anything else is political expediency. Now who is being disingenious ?
There is no way the war would be over by 2008 anyway.
