Denver’s mayor has vowed to shield migrants in his sanctuary city from mass deportation by using local cops and 50,000 residents “stationed at the county line” — calling it a “Tiananmen Square moment.”

“More than us having [federal agents] stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston recently told the outlet Denverite — after President-elect Donald Trump vowed to undertake mass deportations of illegal migrants across the US.

“It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment … right?” said Johnston, referring to the famous caught-on-video showdown between a Chinese student and government tank in Tiananmen Square in China during the 1989 rebellion there.

“You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them,” the mayor said of Denver residents apparently prepared to go to the mat against the federal government.


Roughly 40,000 migrants have flocked to the Mile High City since December 2022 — the largest number of new arrivals per capita across the nation.

I just said this earlier in the week. I live about 1/2 time in Denver. I am activated with a massive group that will fight Trump and Trumpism with lethal force if they attempt to enter our city. If they send tanks here, I will love to see the PR campaign if they try to roll over 50,000 of us lying in the streets and sidewalks. Fuck Trump and every Trump voter. You don't govern Denver, Colorado, and you will not remove our families.

And the school children and concert goers continue to die…but Republicans scream Laken, and continue to protect their guns.
 
I suspect that Sanctuary Cities will simply be required to pay for the upkeep of their Illegals and suffer with the Crime they bring.

I live in a small border state town of citizen population of 108K. In the last two years, we have had 12K illegals and 8K Muslim Refugees among u.s. Crime has skyrocketed, taxes are tripling to pay for the largess heaped on the Illegals, and they do nasty things like poop in front of the grocery store, and and gather in groups of 40-100 to smoke hard drugs on the elementary school front lawn. The mid-schools are war zones, and nobody can enjoy a day at a public park.

They smell bad, glare at you, and mug people if you don't travel in pairs.

I and most of my neighbors would be extremely happy if Trump sent BP and INS to round them up and ship them home.

Most people would cheer the round up. It certainly won't be any "Tiananmen Square".
