DeSantis can’t restrain his white-supremacist instincts, maybe Florida voters will

Poor Gov. Ron DeSantis. He’s working hard to keep Blacks and Latinos off the playing field in Florida with voting- and protest-suppression laws, banning sanctuary cities and, now, ordering law enforcement to profile immigrants on the road. But, here’s a hefty dose of reality to smack the governor in the face.

It’s too late to fight the demographics. Florida is gaining more Latinos than any other state, except, predictably, Texas, concluded the 2021 U.S. Latino GDP Report just released by the nonprofit Latino Donor Collaborative. Between 2015 and 2019 alone, more than 700,000 Latinos were added to our state’s population. And according to the 2020 Census, which also revealed an increasingly multiracial America, Latinos make up 26.2% of Florida’s population.

That’s 5.3 million Hispanics, bad news for DeSantis, who can’t restrain his white-supremacist instincts — and is desperately trying to engineer an unfriendly atmosphere for both settled and new immigrants to Florida.

His newly issued mandate to law enforcement that they pull over drivers they suspect are transporting immigrants into the state is going to be tricky to carry out without violating Americans’ constitutional rights.

How will DeSantis’ troopers be able to tell if that van on Florida’s Turnpike full of people of a certain skin tone is one of our lovely families traveling to Disney World or a suspected smuggling ring?

Dumbass, it's real easy to tell Illegal blackass Haitians and Illegal Mexicans apart from FL and American blacks and legal Mexicans and Cubans and Haitians and even the black Cubans.

Have them talk fer a minute...done! Call ICE or not.

#1 If they're redbone and have a southern accent, they're not illegals

#2 If they're black as coal and look a bit rough and have a Haitian accent, if they speak fairly decent English, they're probably not illegal!
If they only speak Creole and have no papers, call ICE.

#3 If they are all like 4'6" and don't speak a lick of English and have a Mexican accent and no work visas...they're illegals. All 4'6" and by a farm and have work visas, they're legal!

#4 They can be white to black, but if they have a Cuban accent, they're American.

#5 If they're black and have an American accent, maybe a yankee or Cajun Creole one, they're not illegals.

I would be surprised if it stands up in court.
