Vinyl chloride, used in the making of hard plastics, is very flammable and causes liver and other cancers.

Government and Norfolk Southern officials are describing the release and burning of vinyl chloride as a “controlled release.” In reality, the operation was very dangerous and still poses a major health risk."

The "controlled release" was done because Norfolk Southern was losing money every hour the track was blocked. Conservative East Palestine, Ohio is losing its mind over the decision to burn off the chemicals. They know their families will start dying of cancer like every other town where corporate cut corners on human safety to increase profit.
