When it was first reported in late May that he was living apart from his wife, his spokeswoman said it was so he could be closer to his ailing elderly parents.


Silda Spitzer stood by her husband in 2008 as he announced he was resigning as governor after being linked to a prostitution scandal.


They were married in 1987 and have three daughters.


The Daily News broke on its website that Spitzer was in a relationship with Lis Smith, who served as his campaign spokesman in the controller's race and is now the rep for Democrat de Blasio's transition team for mayor.

Why are you fixated on this? Don't you realize that something potentially crucial may be happening in the country and you're going to miss it by fixating on this? Something like... oh, a Republican belching at the dinner table?

The soon-to-be ex-Mrs. Spitzer is an attractive woman. And she stood by him during his press conference of shame.

Admittedly, she still could be a horrible shrew, but this replacement wench has "shrew" written all over her and portends an even more dramatic train wreck.

As a man I understand the allure of variety, but as an adult I also understand the costly ramifications of indulging in variety. Maybe I should run for governor....

As I said, because his new slut is on Democrat De Blasios' staff, I suspect he's angling for an appointment.
