-DIXIE: "There is also a matter of ethics here, and I think good ethics are an important attribute for the man we elect to the highest office in the land. Men who cheat on their wives, and more importantly, forsake their vows to God, are not men of very high moral character.”

-WASHINGTON (AP) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.

I don't know how Dixie would vote, but these statements don't prove what you headline. And often people will vote for the least OFFENSIVE canidate. Rarely do you have the perfect person running.

Senator Clinton would be a great canidate for Dixie... She has never had an affair and has never been divorced.

Sounds like she fits the criteria.

Indeed.

But, dixie said in a recent post that the two top GOP candidates should be Newt and Rudy: two men who've had six wives between them, committed adultry, have treated their ex-wives in a deplorable manner, and appear to have problems with child support and healthy relationships with their kids.

Which is why his admiration of Newt and Rudy, don't appear to comport with this statement:

Cypress, I think we might be misunderstanding Dix a bit. His definitions of high morals are obviously quite different from most of ours.

Just using the standards YOU YOURSELF set up, in determining if a person should be president:

-Newt, Rudy, McCain: 8 wives total, 5 divorces total, multiple cases of infidelity and adultery.

-Hillary, Obama, Edwards: One spouse each, no divorces, no allegations of adultery.

I expect to never, ever see you on this board, talking up Newt, McCain or Rudy for president.
