Dixie and Dumb America

which is why I said we need tarrifs,
free trade is not free, fair trade is what we need.
Not slaves in China and India.

My guess is that you are wrong on global warming, wrong on 'fair wages', wrong on 'fair taxes' and wrong on government.

I also note your bias... you point to Bush's 'C' grade yet fail to do so for Kerry. Why is that?

As for the 40% believe God created everything in the last 10,000 years... do you have a link to that poll?

Guess? Not sure what that even means. The statistics are in the article which is available only through subscription. I didn't realize Kerry was another lazy student. If you want statistics, Pew has lots.

You certainly didn't with the shit job you have. LOFL

All of you dumbasses that feel the need to diss my generation are wasting your time. The Kaboomers have sentenced themselves to not being able to collect SS, and you Gen Xers are too small of a generation (46 million compared with 76 and 78 million on either side of you) for anyone to care one way or the other.

Topspin = irrelevant racist who lies about earning large sums of money to feel good about himself.

Too funny I thought all liberals were rich elitists, now they're poor peons!

Mottleydude, we will never be able to compete with India or China in terms of the number of people or labor cost. But that said there is no way I want to see this country become a third world nation as all jobs, knowledge, and craftsmanship goes overseas. I work with Asian Indians often and while they have fancy degrees they aint no smarter dan we. If America doesn't stop being the consumer of all junk Chinese and all support Indian and pays a little more for the work to be done here, our grandchildren will inherit something less than we did.

Hey were still the greatest economic power in the world and I didn't say we have been left in the dust but that they were leaving us in their dust, academically speaking. I'm not predicting the demise of America. I'm simply stating that we, as a nation, need to reevaluate our priorities and adjust to them accordingly cause if we lose the advantage in the class room, eventually we will lose the advantage in the board room. I have full confidence that we will do so it's just in typically American fashion it will take some event or disaster to motivate us.

One of the things I've noticed about Americans and Europeans (western culture) is how we tend to be more aggresive and disciplined about jumping into a problem and swinging our elbows to get things done. When I worked in academia in the engineering dept at OSU I noticed that the Asian colleagues kicked my ass in theory but that I kicked their ass in application. I couldn't keep up with them in the class room and they couldn't keep up with me in the laboratory.

Most of the boomers will collect SS. You however are out of luck and too bad.

Most probably won't (especially with the current growth of spending making the coming collapse loom ever closer), but since I know already as a very young adult that it won't be there, its not a problem for me.

Of course, with the recent mini-baby boom there may actually wind-up being a large workforce around to pay for my SS four decades from now...

Social security is not in that bad of shape, it is medicare and healthcare that will kill us if we don't do something about the absurd and inefficient system.

I was talking to a French woman the other day, and her comment on their healthcare was tres bon. Her only negative was the usual, corporations claim they pay too much. Of course they do, robbing and pillage is now considered sound economic theory.
