He'll also support the pardon as well.
From what I understand he got caught in lies covering up for Rove leaking the information. He should go to jail, but I won't really be outraged when he gets pardoned. As a matter of fact, I expect him to. My outrage lies in Rove and that other guy not being sent to jail along with him. Maybe the dems are building up a case that won't got to trail or have the verdict delivered until after they win the whitehouse to ensure that Rove does time. That would be brilliant in my opinion. But what do I know?
Would you support Libby going to jail if thats what the judge orders?
Hey, I can save you some time here... I support our legal justice system. They found the man guilty, I accept and condone that, they convicted him, I accept and condone that, and they will sentence him, and I will accept and condone that as well. If President Bush pardons him, I will lose respect for President Bush, but I will also accept and condone that.
You know what I don't accept or condone? Liberal Pinheads! I will never accept their lies as truth, and I will never condone their agenda or mission. Other than that, I am a pretty fair and objective person, and I can tolerate, accept, or condone whatever the people decide for themselves. Most of the issues I am vocal on, I would fully support settling by ballot initiative, and I would live with the results. I don't seek to ram my personal moral beliefs down your throat, but it certainly seems that is what you wish to do.
Well Libby tried to cover up for Cheney and I think Rove by lying to a federal prosecutor and a grand jury regarding a materal issue. For that he should suffer the conviction, but considering that he has no prior record, is unlikely to ever commit a crime again, and lost his job over it, I think probation with community service and a fine would be enough punishment. Prison would not be approperate... however Martha Stewart did prison for much the same crime.
Ill be okay with it if he gets pardoned, In fact in political terms I hope Bush does pardon him, becuase it will be great fodder for the talk shows and for the culture of corruption argument made about the Republican party.
Yes, Libby did try to cover for Cheney's crimes.
He thought that he could GET AWAY WITH IT because HE DID NOT THINK that journalists would testify.... he thought that they would hold true to their oath of confidence with the informant or source...
BUT THEY DIDN'T for various reasons and because of the pressure from the Fitzy....
Also, If Libby is not pardon, he will NO LONGER be able to practice Law....as a convicted felon, is my understanding of it...
