I want to know the real reason why Damocles voting no....
I think Damocles realizes that he is on the wrong side of public opinion on this issue, so he doesn't give us a real reason....
But really we know Damocles real reason to voting no. He thinks Wikileaks harms national security....
What a scared little boy.... he believes what the big bad government tells him to believe....
SHEEP SHEEP SHEEP!

Whether you want to deny it or not, there is a serious need for the gov't having classified information that we do not have access to.
I am not defending the bullshit, but saying all the information should be public is just being naive.
A government that has far exceeded its Constitutional authority should be told "FU" as often as possible.I voted no because I see extremely limited value in the indiscriminate release of hundreds of thousands of pages of classified documents. The latest release wasn't about whistle-blowing, exposing government misdeeds or government lies. It was just a big "fuck you."

So?the leaks had nothing to do with this purported exceeding consitutional authority though....

I don't think it harms our national interest to publicize what the ruling class does. In the example of international diplomacy, I'd much rather have leaders sit down with each other and say exactly what they think instead of trying to outmaneuver each other.why harm the entire government because you disagree with something obama has done? or are you claiming the entire government as it is exceeds its constitutional scope, so you will then do anything to give them an FU, even if it means harming our national interests....?

The leaked U.S. diplomatic cables indicate China has signaled its readiness to accept Korean reunification and is distancing itself from the North Korean government.
It reveals then-Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister He Yafei told a U.S. official last year that Pyongyang was acting like a "spoiled child" by staging a missile test in an attempt to push Washington to hold bilateral talks. Chinese officials are also quoted as using mocking language in reference to North Korea.
One of the leaked cables alleges that children of high-ranking North Korean and Chinese officials managed to use the aid and investment deals for their own enrichment.
The cables came out as Beijing tries to ease tensions on the Korean peninsula after the North's artillery bombardment of a South Korean island last week. Four South Koreans, two marines and two civilians, were killed in the attack.

do you think it is a good idea to publish the above type information....it is possible such information could lessen china's ability to diffuse the situation
Yes. Put all the cards on the table. Arrest the cheaters who gained financially.
yeah, the last thing we would want is leaders from different countries feeling free to express what they really believe to each other.....much better if they couch their communications in vague innuendo and let the other side guess what they mean.....
An equally likely scenario is that the ruling class, their infantile behavior exposed, would be less likely to start a war since their motives would be seen as attempting to avenge embarrassment.?
so if china now cannot defuse the situation and war ensues, which is not an unlikely scenario....you support that....i must say i am surprised
