Does the story add up...

I know its early and I understand that its hard to always get the details stright... or is there something more...


The reports of the caputre of these bomber brothers dont really add up to me.
Is it just me or does it add up to you?

1) The FBI releases the photos because they needed help finding the suspects:

But they did not relase the most clear of the photos until after the two were captured. Yet it turns out that at least one of them had bee investigated by the FBI not just 2 years ago, would some agent not have reconzed him? Dont they have facial reconization software? Still nobody turned the brothers in...

2) The brothers, after having lived fairly normal lives between the bombing and the capture decide to rob a 7-11? The boy was driving a Mercedes Benz but needed to rob a 7-11?

3) They then randomly shoot a cop.

4) Then they carjack a man... but let him loose instead of killing him, after having randomly killing a 7 year old boy and shooting a cop at point blank range?

5) That man then helps authorities capture them.

6) Then they have a gun battle with authorities in which the police shoot at them with over 200 rounds.... Resulting in nobody being severly wounded.

7) The older suspect gets out of the car and approaches the police, shooting several rounds until he runs out of bulliets, (the police dont shoot him, after having shot over 200 rounds at him earlier) the police then tackle him and begin to put him in handcuffs when the younger brother runs him over.

8) The younger brother is bleeding profusly, leaving a trail of blood that the police followed for a short while. Hundreds of law enforcement officers then canvase the area for 12 hours but dont look in the boat in someone's back yard.

9) the boat owner sees blood and calls the police, leading to a gun battle between the remaining suspect and the police where nobody is shot. Although 25 to 30 rounds were discharged.

10) The suspect then puts a gun into his mouth and shoots himself.

11) After having discharged a gun into his mouth he surrenders, climbing out of the boat on his own.

12) He is taken to the hospital in serious condition.


There are about a 1000 holes in this story... am I wrong? It just does not add up on so many levels. I am not blaming anyone or subscribing a motive to anyone, I just dont know what the deal is.....

Is it simply that the media has gotten so much wrong about the story?
 
I think you got some of the time line and facts wrong.

Like that they didn't own the Mercedes, it was stolen.

There are two mercedes here... one that the younger brother owner, I saw an inverview with his mechanic, the other that they carjacked.

They didn't have identifications of the suspects at the time they released the photos so I doubt that they had clear photos until afger the suspects were actually identified. Also, too, given those grainy pictures, I doublt any facial recognition software would have actually worked. Also, too, you watch too much TV.

This is weird and who knows why they did this, but the cops was shot and is dead. What's our alternative theory here?

He had gunshot wounds.

You just said no one was severely wounded. What? The boat was not within the 20 block cordon.

The idea that the police exchanged gun fire with the suspect doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm guessing that he didn't shoot at all and that that one officer fired a round and then the rest joined it. The suspect was likely shot.

There is one more important element to the story ..

Russia Warned FBI About Tamerlan Tsarnaev Before Bombing

New details about the brothers suspected of being behind the Boston Marathon have slowly trickled out today. Investigators are now focusing on a 2011 trip to Russia by the older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, where they believe he became radicalized by extremist groups in the north Caucasus region. Russia had asked the FBI to look into Tamerlan's extremist ties, but the FBI's investigation yielded nothing of note and after interviewing him, kept no tabs on him. "The F.B.I. did not find any terrorism activity, domestic or foreign," the FBI said in a statement.

The FBI said Russia had asked for the investigation "based on information that he was a follower of radical Islam and a strong believer, and that he had changed drastically since 2010 as he prepared to leave the United States for travel to the country's region to join unspecified underground groups."

IT seems a strange coincidence that two wanted suspects, who happen to have 7 explosive devices in there backpacks happened to be in close proximity to a 7-11 robery, but its not unbeliveable.

That would clear up that inconsistancy.

I find it strange that a man with a bulliet through his neck, and other gunshot injuries that resulted in a "trail of blood" could climb out of a boat on a trailer on his own.

Yeah, that's not exactly well-sourced and I will bet dollars to dingleberries that it turns out to be very very wrong.

Regardless he had a bullet through his neck, yet was able to climb out of that boat unassisted?
