Does truth matter in politics? What Orwell and Camus thought.

It seems that this anxiety Orwell and Camus had about the truth is as prescient today as it was in 1945. But it raises an important question: how can an individual think truthfully in a world dominated by untruthful narratives?

Camus conceptualised truth as an internal struggle, against the need for the absolute certainty provided by the “beautiful twilight” of falsehood. Ironically enough, then, Camus’ idea of real truthfulness lay in uncertainty, and in diligently maintaining an awareness of that fact. In other words, truthfulness means thinking in good faith, in honest suspicion of even the most appealing of narratives.

What you want to be true isn’t automatically true

Truth exists

Facts exist

You just have to be honest and smart enough to decern what is actually fact

It’s easy if you truly desire to face reality

Once you see it unfold in front of you and experience the results of embracing the truth you will never be content with another lie

ITS BEAUTIFUL!

And your life is sooooooo enriched by the ability to make the right choices for your future

There is no way you will settle for fucking lies anymore

Pursue truth

It exists
