It is comforting to think that the Trump Bubble is the last dying gasp of hateful conservatism, but that would be naive.

There is strong hope that the numbers and power of this kind of disgusting thinking will wane.

Surely the left has realized it must run a strong candidate with as little baggage as possible in 2020.

But they will be doing it from a minority position, they will not have the power as the predominate group

I think we all know that. But you know, if we could resurrect Jesus and have Him run as a (D), the Reichwing Slime Machine would manufacture all kinds of dirt to smear Him with. "Virgin mom, huh? Suuuure..... next up on Fox & Friends, video of Mary and the Sea of Galilee Fishing Fleet." Limbaugh: "Did you see what He did? Drove faithful worshipers right out of the Temple! No respect for the 1st Amendment, none. Is this what we want?" Glenn Beck with chalkboard: "Look at this, folks. He claims to be descended from the line of King David. But what's this? See this? The battle should not be underestimated.

Trump caught everybody off guard. Even the Republicans did not want him. Hopefully, the nation has been sufficiently awakened to the problem.

Perhaps truly conservative Republicans will mount an offense to save their party from the destruction Trump has wrought. Time will tell.

Usually the party in power stands behind that party's president for a second term, but many of the old norms were shattered when overconfident Dems ran Hillary despite her baggage and allowed Trump to win.

The 2020 vote will be about disgust as was 2016. the baggage thing is not relevant given the rights just making crap up. The election will be revolve around disgust or lack thereof for trump.

Potter said the median age in the state increased from 34.5 to 34.6 between July 2016 and July 2017.

“Even though we’re one of the youngest states, we are getting older,” Potter told the news outlet.
