The Department of Justice reportedly has plans to bring charges against one of the three Democrat lawmakers who were seen breaching a New Jersey ICE facility earlier in May. Rep. LaMonica McIver was seen on bodycam footage shoving security agents at the Delaney Hall detention facility.

Three sources speaking on condition of anonymity told the New Jersey Globe that there were plans to charge McIver. While the nature of the charges are currently unknown, the outlet said interim US Attorney Alina Habba could announce the charges as soon as Friday, and McIver may turn herself in the same day.

McIver, alongside fellow Dem lawmakers Bonnie Watson and Rob Menendez, visited the facility on May 9 alongside Newark Mayor Ras Baraka to allegedly conduct "oversight." Baraka, who has claimed that the facility does not have the proper permits to run, was arrested at the scene, while the three lawmakers were not.

McIver was seen in footage of an altercation pushing her way past a Department of Homeland Security agent and going through the facility’s gates.

The three lawmakers may face disciplinary actions in Congress for their involvement in the incident. Mike Johnson said measures such as censure, being stripped of committee assignments, and expulsion were being looked at, however, he noted that the latter measure would be hard to achieve in the current party makeup of the House.

"Look, I think it's pretty clear that the law was violated," Johnson said. "You might have noticed the Wisconsin judge that was trying to conceal the illegal alien that was gonna be apprehended by ICE, a federal grand jury indicted judge." He said that the judge is facing up to six years in jail and up to $350,000 in fines "because she obstructed the proceedings. She obstructed justice."

"What these House Democrats did is in that same vein of what the judge is being indicted for, so I think there’s some legal ramifications to play out here and we’ll see."

This rep is a Black female. My bet is she gets charged then:

She claims the charges are trumped up (pun intended)

When that goes nowhere, she'll claim they're racist and sexist.

When that fails she'll say she isn't guilty of anything.

Then when the trial comes she'll be in court defiant and angry dissing everyone involved.

That'll get her sentence maxed out.

More trump-up vengeance prosecution

Shall we keep this prediction around for later perusal?

I'm interested in whether that is true, do you believe she is "above the law" or do you believe that "nobody is above the law"?
Sure, keep it around. The Mayor’s case was dismissed, how is hers any different.

She isn’t above the law, having a case dismissed is a process of the law.

Just like Trump had Bill Barr for Gestapo chief, this time he has got another lackey AG who is scummy enough to do Trump's bidding for him. It's also interesting that you are using the phrase "nobody is above the law"
