Officials with Warrick Literacy and Educational Connections (WLEC) say funding for the Warrick County Dolly Parton Imagination Library will be cut on Governor Braun’s proposed budget. Match funding from the state will continue until July 1, 2025 if this portion of the budget is approved.
Officials say research confirms that early literacy significantly contributes to academic and life success. This research was conducted by the National Assessment of Adult Literacy. This program is a “cost effective” way to address the root cause of many social issues that emerge later in life that have been proven to be directly related to illiteracy.
