Donald Trump Called 'Megalomaniac' By Angry Local at Republican Town Hall

Let It Burn!

President Donald Trump faced intense criticism from local residents during a regular constituency town hall meeting for Republican Representative Rich McCormick in his Georgia district on Thursday, one person labeling him a "megalomaniac."

During the meeting, many constituents harshly criticized the Republican lawmaker for backing the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), particularly its plan for massive federal layoffs and budget cuts.

It comes after nearly 1,300 probationary employees at the nearby Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta were told they were being forced out last week.

Newsweek has contacted Representative McCormick for comment via email.

Why It Matters

The anger at the town hall meeting expressed toward Trump and McCormick comes amid mass firings of probationary workers across multiple federal agencies, including the CDC, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Education, launched by the Trump administration, with 77,000 employees opting into a federal buyout program since January. Such cuts were a key campaign promise of Trump's, who won 51 percent of the vote in Georgia.

What To Know

During the meeting, one person told McCormick he had done a "disservice" and had failed to "stand up for us" by supporting the cuts.

Another attendee criticized recent cuts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, asking, "Why is the supposedly conservative party taking such a radical and extremist and sloppy approach to this?" McCormick responded that "a lot of the work they do is duplicitous with AI."

I can't really feel sorry for Trump supporters who were fired from their government jobs, or face losing their Medicaid.

Trump supports actually work so very few were fired by DOGE. Only government parasites were fired.
Give me a link to a to a reputable source showing what percentage of government workers fired were Trump voters.

If you don't provide a link I will take it as proof you pulled this guess out of your ass.

I think a minority of government workers fired voted for Trump.
But your claim is that there were "so very few".

I love it, you morons are such suckers, hey, if you give me $2000 I can get my fortune out of the bank and I'll give you $20000 for the trouble, really, honest. LOL

Yes, it was a town hall meeting for a Republican, very good, Newsweek got that right. Yes some drones pissed and moaned, here's where the story goes sideways. What Republicans? This was nothing more than a bunch of whiny bitches, as if every one of you libtards were at the meeting. Not exactly newsworthy but they did get you morons to click on it and that's the real goal. Ohh wait I think the story claimed that someone was a Republican there. LOL

Show me a reputable source for your thought or I'll assume you're pulling that from your ass. LOL I'll add my thoughts not backed up by anything other than common sense. The majority of people fired are indeed Democrats. Why? Because most government workers in pointless jobs are Democrats. It doesn't matter who's right, they are still fired and I'm certain that I won't miss them at all. Oh yeah, I'm lovin' every minute of seeing you drones squirm.

Irrelevant to the assertion that was made.

You're not answering the question I asked.
You're answering the question you wished I asked.

"Most" can mean 51 percent, or 63 percent.

That's not what the MAGA moron poster wrote.
They wrote a miniscule amount voted for Trump. They wrote "so very few" voted for Trump. That certainly implies only a few percent at most of government employees voted for Trump.

For one of the most prolific posters on the board, she curiously doesn't even rank in the top 20 posters on the reactions ranking list. That obviously means whatever she is writing is mind numbingly boring, not interesting, never funny, never insightful. Posters just don't react positively to her contributions.

Excellent observations. One big reason is that most of Toxic's posts are gossip about other ppl, virtue-signaling fiction about herself, frantic grooming of hoped-for defenders, and poorly-written repeats of Fox and Breitbart talking points.
