I think those "cancel" ppl are ones who asked to have their accounts deleted.
 
There are 150 repugs who will vote with Trump in the 6th. They are doing that to keep from being primaried for insufficient Trumpiness. Many have told others including Dems, that they know it is a show. There is no way they can win it for Trump. It is just more craziness.
We are at an intellectual and emotional low that is harming America. Repubs cannot do the right thing. They do not have the guts to stand up against Trump.

Awesome post. Totally nailed it. Party loyalty is more important to them than loyalty to the USA. Sad.

That's why he got let off the hook after the impeachment. He should have been found guilty and removed from office.

I don't think it had anything to do with their oaths. It was just political opinion. Nothing in their oath of office required them to convict Trump (or Clinton or Johnson).

No, but they took an oath to uphold the Constitution. That includes listening to evidence (i.e., holding a trial) of an impeached president. They held no trial, heard no witnesses. They merely voted to acquit... based on their opinions.

They already knew how they would vote. The Constitution does not require the Senate to hear witnesses or evidence as part of their duties to try impeachments. The trial consisted of three days of opening arguments by the prosecution, three days for the defense, and three days of debate, questions, answers.

"the Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments…[but] no person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present"

Their oath does not prevent them from being partisan.

We foolishly relied in their belief in truth, justice and the American way. We also hoped they might honor their oaths of office. Rightys are showing that does not matter to them.
