Over a decade and $16B of taxpayer dollars wasted with zero results on this rail project.

If protestors want to shout at someone, they should direct their outrage at Governor Newsom and complicit Democrats who have enabled this fraud and waste for a train to nowhere.

@USDOT will be investigating.

Worse, even if California's government finishes it, it'll never make a cent in profit.

Was it supposed to?

California’s high-speed rail project, as initially envisioned and presented to voters, was not explicitly promised to "turn a profit" in the traditional sense of generating net revenue exceeding costs for the state. Instead, the focus was on operational sustainability and broader economic, environmental, and social benefits rather than direct profitability for the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) or the state government.

Just because public transit doesn't normally make a profit doesn't mean it shouldn't. At a minimum, it should run close to no cost in its operation. If a public transit system is running a huge deficit, changes need to be made, or it needs to be shut down.

The people of California approved the bond issue.
