double standards of justice DUI style

DUI hit and run nets 60 day home detention

not much to the article. anyone else think a civilian would have gotten so lucky on a DUI hit and run?

No way.

I know a guy here in Pennsylvania that wrecked his car while under the influence and caused no more damage than ruts in a field from his car flipping....45 days..... in county.

He's a fellow musician who hosted an open mic. We held down the fort for him and hosted it till he got out.

Ive seen it happen. Not much about how strong or weak the case was. Did they have a lot of evidence against him? Was the victim injured? What were the victims wishes about prosecution and punishment? Did the Defendant take the breathalizer? Did the Defendent turn himself in, or was he later captured?

These and other factors would affect the result.

I once had a man sentenced to two years probation on a third DUI that severly injured someone. The only State witness showed up drunk to his deposition drunk, twice...
