Kirk was an ideologue of the far right and advocated some truly disgusting things. I condemn assassination as a political tool- apart from the moral aspect of murder being wrong, it is also dumb. This dead fascist is now the GOP's Horst Wessel and they're weaponising his “martyrdom”.

Kirk was a fairly reprehensible human being who stated that he hated empathy and considered dead school kids an acceptable price to pay for having an armed society, but by killing him, his assassin has now given him an aura of martyrdom he never deserved. Everything about this sucks.
