Dow tumbles 700 points as Trump’s remarks on China reignite trade war fears

So? The stock market regularly takes corrections like this one with periodic heavy selloffs followed by recovery and advances to new highs.

I'm commenting on how friggin' careless he is w/ his public pronouncements, seemingly unconcerned about the market losing a huge amount of value based on a single comment.
That’s moving the goalpost. My point is if the Dow went up 700 points today and someone started a thread saying this shows Trump is a good or great economic President or a good businessman, I’d have the exact same response. A one day rise or fall in the market proves nothing.

Global Times is running an Op-Ed basically "We dont give a fuck about the yap.....given who it comes from it does not mean anything....we will watch actions".

Make no mistake, there is real panic inside the White House. When Trump utters the words,"Xi just had a bad moment", it sounds measured, almost diplomatic. But beneath that thin veneer of calm lies a desperate attempt to mask humiliation. It is, in truth, the most devastating loss of face imaginable for Trump, a public unraveling disguised as poise, a hollow gesture of control that only underscores his growing vulnerability.

Concern about tomorrow being another Black Monday is on the down low......I am not so sure.

Everybody is about to become unable to avoid seeing that a lot of the American financial system is fraudulent.

It was in the news today China IS going to stop all rare earth materials right away and Trump says he will be adding another 100% tariff on top of the 50% he has already put on them.
Trump doesn't realize just how many made in America products use those rare earth material in them.
So with out a place to get that material some US companies are going to get hurt and hurt bad .
Heck Trump has already hurt the US auto industry and this will hurt them even more.
Some times I wonder if he is trying to bankrupt the US auto industry on purpose.

No but the Fed is closed tomorrow, the American financial system is largely fraudulent, and the American people can no longer avoid this fact as hard as they may try.

Fun Times Ahead.

Well Trump said he will be putting another 100% tariff on top of what he has already put on starting Nov. 1st , so again some companies will be buying up and storing it trying to hold off price increases.
Trump is stupid the exporting countries and retailers will just pass them on they have already eaten all of them they can it is the CONSUMER that will end up paying them with a lot higher prices and IMO I believe some companies in the supply chain will add a percent or two to pad their bottom line and put the blame on the tariff for the higher prices.
Any way you look at it Trumps tariffs will be driving up prices and cause inflation and maybe a recession. only time will tell

Do people still think he's some sort of good or great economic President?

Never has been. And he wasn't a good businessman.
He's an overgrown and demented child who plays with American lives like a boy plays with toy soldiers.
