Durham is writing his final report

John Durham was appointed by Attorney General Barr in April 2019 to investigate an alleged conspiracy against Trump before and after the 2016 election. He was tasked with “broadly examining the government's collection of intelligence involving the Trump campaign's interactions with Russians".

The review by Durham at one point veered into a criminal investigation related to Trump himself, even as it failed to find wrongdoing in the origins of the Russia inquiry. Great detail here, well worth reading:

How many prosecutions has Durham brought? Three:

Kevin Clinesmith, low-level FBI attorney. Accused of altering an email during the renewal of a FISA warrant against Carter Page. Pleaded guilty; 12 months probation.

Michael Sussmann, partner in the law firm Perkins Coie. Accused of falsely telling FBI general counsel James Baker that he was not representing a client in their discussions. Found not guilty.

Igor Danchenko, Washington-based Russia analyst. Accused of lying to the FBI about one of his sources in the Trump-Russia investigation. Found not guilty.

“This was an overthrow of government, this was an attempted overthrow, and a lot of people were in on it” – Trump, December 2019.

By last September the cost of the investigation had passed $6.5 million. Hey, it made the Trumpsters happy while it lasted! Remember when Durham was confidently predicted to prosecute Obama and Biden?

The first sentence of the report should read:

"We wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on a fruitless investigation who's only goal was to placate the ego and delusions of former one-term, twice-impeached President Trump."

Barr was pressuring Durham, rather than letting Durham operate independently. It's the opposite of what Garland is doing - hiring non-partisan, independent prosecutors to investigate Biden, et al.

Perhaps the Democrats need to start operating like the mobster Republicans?

Barr is currently on a "fix my reputation tour" and shilling for his book. This new revelation might get in the way.

Sounds like the time and money that was wasted on a Russian collusion delusion. Idiots

Barr was doing wrong and expected Durham to also do wrong. Durham did everything he could to find a crime and implicate the Dems. He failed because it did not happen. He wasted mega millions.
Barr went to Italy searching for a country to vindicate Trump. Instead, they provided evidence of Trump's financial crimes. Barr handed them over to Durham who swept them under the rug. Durham was strictly acting politically as was Barr. https://www.alternet.org/bill-barr-2659317134/ Trump talked about HIS Atty generals, his generals, and his army.

Durham is a failure. Barr is a failure. Trump is a failure.

Which takes us back to the beginning, everything propagandized by the right wing media regarding the Russian involvement in the Trump campaign has turn out bogus. If Barr hadn’t strategically gotten out in front of the Mueller Report to reframe its’ conclusions Trump would have been investigated long before his Ukrainian call
