Journalists have been attacked because of the “disgraceful actions” of the White House, Lord Black of Brentwood said, as he called for international protection of the media.

The Deputy Chairman of Telegraph Media Group told the House of Lords that across the world “attacks on journalists are reaching unprecedented levels. In many cases these are inspired by the disgraceful actions of the White House which have led to an axe on journalists in the US,” Lord Black said.

His comments come after dozens of journalists, foreign as well as American, were arrested, attacked or injured while covering the protests in response to the killing of George Floyd. Reporters have been shot by rubber bullets, beaten, threatened and intimidated by police while reporting on the demonstrations.

Press freedom groups have blamed President Trump’s demonisation of the media as a cause of the attacks.

There is no question Trump has created an atmosphere of us versus them which is fine in sport, but doesn't work well in life. His comments on racists being 'good people' was a gift to his base, but it shows his lack of integrity. He is a weak, insecure man and that America made him president should give every thoughtful person pause.

"Journalists" are increasingly held in low regard all around the globe.

Their poor quality work and lack of honesty about the fact that they increasingly have no interest in doing journalism has something to do with that.

The president tweeted that it could have been a set-up organized by Antifa activists, though he provided no evidence for the claim. “I watched, he fell harder than was pushed … Could be a set-up?” the president wrote.

The theory was first floated by One America News, a right-wing channel favored by Mr Trump.

Two officers in riot gear caught in footage pushing Mr Gugino to the ground, where he lay bleeding heavily, have been charged with second-degree assault. Mr Gugino is still in hospital in serious but stable condition.

And to top it all off, they have the audacity to discover tRump's habitual lies and have the gall to report it. How dare they question Lord tRump thy God.
 
Journalism is enshrined in our very Constitution. Attacks on the profession, and the people who practice it, are attacks on the foundation of our freedom.

Is anyone dumb enough to but that explanation? It is all made up shit, probably by Miller. Trump is not that smart. Lies are all they have.

I think if Trump does turn on Fox, it'll only happen if he gets reelected. The country will be in such bad shape, that Fox will have no choice but to admit Trump has been a total failure. At that point, Trump will turn on them, make OANN is bottom bitch, and then this reality show will really get nuts.

Fox probably stands to gain more if the Toadstool loses. Controversy attracts viewers which attracts money. If Biden wins, they'll have four years to whip up the rubes, terrify them, convince them that only Fox gives them the truth. Trump is good for their business, but a rival is even more so.

Definitely. During the Obama years, Fox got to pretend they were fighting against the establishment. They do still kinda do that with the "Deep State" but it's a lot less believable. They probably prefer having a Democrat in office.
