I hadn't realised that most US males between 18-25 have to enrol.

The selective service is not "the draft". 5 years and 250k is the maximum penalty, not the mandatory penalty, and the maximum penalty for most laws is almost never given. It's absurd to pretend that this is a given fact in any case. And there hasn't even been a prosecution under the law in the past 20 years, the government has essentially stopped enforcing it.

And largely male government denies women the right to fight in combat roles anyway. Should a national emergency occur requiring the draft to be issued, there would be little to no point in drafting women. This isn't even the case right now, so what men really face is the fact that their denial of the right to fight in combat to women leaves them as the only useful objects of a draft that's probably not going to be instated barring the occurrence of total war in the future, and thusly they alone have to sign up for something that would slightly expedite such a draft should it be reinstated with national survival at stake, and the penalties for failure to sign up for this system which slightly expedites the draft would probably be little to nothing should conviction even be pursued, which largely isn't the case.

I.E. stop being a whiny, privilege blind, overly entitled little bitch.

Not familiar with non combat roles are you?

The article does raise an interesting point. So long as men are required to register with the Selective Service, should women have to do the same?
