Ethics Versus Morality, What's the difference?

Morality is .... oh wait! This is another GOTCHA! isn't it? As soon as I give you my answer, you're going to call me an immoral globalist fascist, aren't you? OK, I know it's coming, but I'll answer your question anyway.

Morality and ethics both seek to establish proper human behavior. Morality is rooted in determining right and wrong from the perspective of good vs evil. Ethics is rooted in social norms from the perspective that humans must police themselves, and thus must establish proper standards of human behavior so that we can all just get along.

If I'm bidding on a contract, and my competitor accidentally sends me an email with his bid and other proprietary information, the ethical thing for me to do would be to delete the email and to alert my competitor of his error. In my atheist mind, there is no question of morality here, however a Christian might feel that there is, by presuming that God would want me to not be tempted by Satan's attempt to create more injustice in the world.

If I see someone get murdered, I think that's evil and thus is immoral. There is no question of ethics because this is not an instance of any social norm.

OK, your turn.

Anything achieved through immoral means is immoral. That's not unique to profit.

No, but anything isn't everything. Thus far you havent shown any problem specifically with profit.

Profit isn't antithetical to faith and you haven't cited any example.

You're unhinged
